Applies to 90% of Catholic twitter, it has to be one of the worst subcultures on the whole internet.
They're all either backbiting leftists or larpy wignats. All of this shitflinging discourse is so counterproductive to any cultivation of virtue that I really question any seemingly hardcore Cath who spends hours a day bickering on that AIDS site. Even the priests on there have group messages where they slander people who aren't on their "side". A handful seem like genuinely clean-cut normal people but they're too normie to interact with much.
The Ortho circles have the same problem, a good chunk of it is "muh white man's religion, Catholics are wrong because they let black people into their church".
My view has become that if you want to use the internet to shitpost or kick back, fine, but don't use it as a major part of your spiritual life. Nothing good can come of the sensationalism it affords.

I really don't know how I feel about Ted. I really do have immense respect for him and consider him an incredibly intelligent man and political theorist. But he's also a murderer. What's the consensus on his bombings? Is he just a radical that used violence or is he insane? It's hard to look at his work at consider him a total loony.
