Am I just very impressionable, or is good literature revolutionary?

Never have the images of a TV series or a movie fundamentally changed how I saw the world in the way a novel has.

No documentaries about the woes of the world have made me as critical of society as a great book has.

And no bass line or melody has consoled me in the depths of my depressions the way a poem or a monologue has.

Though, I guess if you're content with life, and society, and human nature, you might not need literature.
