Me too.

>and when you say that I can only understand these things if I read the books
Again, that's not my implication. They're simply maps of territory you might traverse on the path.

>and that you can't or don't want to provide any proof over the Internet, it sounds to me just like the mormons telling me to read their bible and study it with them because that way I'll see the light.
I'm not about the hermenuetics, I'm about actually doing the practices (i.e. Yoga or ceremonial magick). The difference between me and the Mormon is that I'm not looking for converts, or to spread the "word". I don't want anyone practicing parallel to me that was weak enough to be persuaded by another person saying magick is a good idea. Someone simply asked, and I gave a few examples of what may be possible.

I can give you many anecdotes about magick but that's not 'proof', I could take the time out of my day to give record every second of experience between performing a ritual and getting a result....but why would I do that for someone else? Even then, for example, in a windfall scenario, there'd be no control for someone prearranging things before I begin taping everything....

So, like I said, if you're interested in what these practices *may* have to offer you, try them out for a month. If nothing happens, at least you'll have gained some discipline that you might not have otherwise had the opportunity to begin.

I'm far more interested in the phenomena experienced in mystical contexts than the language game of parsing out their objective validity
