It literally incentivizes your mind to wander and imagine things and not focus on the concepts and exact meanings of worlds that are being presented to you. You make your mind wander around and not focus on a single thing and makes reading non-fiction much harder. Taking a break from philosophy for 3 months and reading only fiction has made me considerably more stale in mind than when I read no fiction at all. When will the "read fiction" meme end?

I have with me James Joyce's A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, Nabokov's Speak Memory, and Thomas de Kempis' Imitation of Christ.

My book is about a man whose life goes wrong in everyway and he goes from a life of relative comfort with everything that he needs and some more money beyond that but his stranded relationship with his father makes him lose all of the money allotted to him ever since they had this huge fight and now he's in a very dire situation, hahahah, I swear it's not me, hahahaha.
