Because what you're doing isn't enough, my friend. I've been in the same boat. You need to exercise your new words by using them in sentences. It isn't enough to just look up the definition and go over them, hoping rote memorization will take over. Start a diary/journal and incorporate those words in.

Can anyone recommend novels that deal with absurdism? I'm using the term generally by the way -- not necessarily Camus's philosophy but just the idea that life is very, very strange and seldom makes any sense
