His book Gravity's Rainbow was just too much and he shouldn't have won any prize for it.

Minimalism: why? Movie scripts that play in your head, for a very low cost with a decent return on investment, put into a novel format: why? We all know the feminist, gay mafia aesthetic shock wave has astroglided into the I'm-so-random mundane: why? Does Chucky return? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KymSTjJ5Aow Is this the truth that Peterson warned us about?

Thread about minimalist prose and the use and abuse of surreal, bizzaro, weird elements.

I see crime novels as the main form to write a book that affirms discipline, but are there other forms of writing that facilitate a deeper understanding of duty, subordination, and attention to logic without either sentimentalism or heroics getting in the way.

I guess coming of age novels, or siddhartha by hesse except realistic. Something like a Camus novel, but doesn't walllow in modernisms despair.

Should I just keep reading Tolstoy forever?

I am formulating my opinion on the book before reading the end so I can search for my opinion to be validated in the text. I may refer to the distribution before and after the writers death. I may psychoanalysis the man. I may even see two men together outside of a sexual fantasy. Do I get made fun of now for an opinion?

Count back from 1973 to where M. Mcluhan meets John M. Allegro. Where did this happen and why? Then take into account French-Canadian migration into New York state. Why did Kerouac die? What relation is [P.] to all three? What was the meeting between these groups and how did [P.] understand the implication of each of their particular past positions?

As a disseminationist, I conclude Pynchon to be a product of his times and then move on to his continued representation by an industry using certain infrastructure to achieve the aims of a larger social-political-economic group. The publication of the book is more relevant to me than the content, except in how it reflects the dissemination. Which is why Pynch is The Man in your head, and he must be destroyed. Fireboom incoming daddikins! Errrr. Er. *Boom- boom.* Ut-oh...teehehe. Waaaa! Waaaa! Teehe.

Postmodernism as an addition to modernism by way of scepticism of grand narratives.
Ahistocial in evaluation, directing history to the present problems: 73! yafucks! 45 to 73! Read a history book! God damned american idiots. What is the relation between Jews and Blacks and Puritans if you were to say, look out your window in the sixties and see them all together? Now if you were evil, or special, or Canadian, how would you keep them mad at each other for personal profit? Teehe....
Lacan is Dr. Strangelove is definitely not Mr. Hollywood, but instead a geek with a Ron Jeremy snarl and hankering for totalizing in a all but too American fashion that is purely antagonistic without empathy beyond itself, yet able to subsume all in its fascist attempt to level art and tickle you to death like The Nasizs do.

freewill enables nihilists to respect intention as an individual doing a crime, but only so that the Machiavellians among those staunch respectable people can prey upon the public's lust for vengeance, for agency, and then using those emotions to either drive people towards a certain decision or towards some ponzi scam. Religious folks in american have been used by nihilists for such a long time that most don't even remember how this debate reemerged. Wonder why the cultural war dealt with this particular issue for so long?

The CNN effect is a phenomenon in political science and media studies which states that CNN's use of shocking images of humanitarian crises around the world compels U.S. policy makers to intervene in humanitarian situations they may not otherwise have an interest in.[1] The 24-hour international television news channel known as Cable News Network or CNN, had a major impact on the conduct of states' foreign policy in the late Cold War period and that CNN and its subsequent industry competitors have had a similar impact in the post Cold War era. While the free press has, in its role as the "Fourth Estate," always had an influence on policy-making in representative democracies, proponents of the CNN effect argue that the extent, depth, and speed of the new global media have created a new species of effects qualitatively different from those that preceded them.[2][3] The term's coinage reflects the pioneering role played by the network CNN in the field, whose "saturation coverage" of events like the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989, the fall of Communism in eastern Europe, the first Gulf War, and the Battle of Mogadishu was viewed as being strongly influential in bringing images and issues to the immediate forefront of American political consciousness and beyond. : Additionally, the CNN effect was the driving force behind the U.S. intervention of the Kurdish crisis and use of force by the army during the Bosnia war of 1992-1995.[4] Despite these origins, the term as used generally refers to a broad range of real time modern media, and is not exclusive to CNN or even 24-hour news cycle broadcast cable news.

Ideologies don't exist. No coherence has ever been found in a set of ideas between a group of so called shared beliefs. The legitimacy of a group ideology is not held by the powerful and disseminated downwards. Locating the contents of any ideology becomes a practice of making useful selections from an abstraction that exists in language and not in the meanings individuals hold to be the truth of the world.
