This year I made a list of Books I've read and most are even relevant to this thread.

Best Books I've read
>Warwolf
>Monster Hunter Guardian
>Monster Hunter Bloodlines
I've read all the MHI Books in like a week, which was nice. Wasn't this exited about anything in a long time. Even though the Momoires books aren't as good as Larry Correias books.

Biggest Letdowns were
>Things have gotten worse since we last spoke by Eric LaRocca
I bought it because the Cover looked good and it was a bit hyped. The writing itself was very enjoyable but the story just fizzled out and it's neither disturbing nor shocking. I won't buy anything from that author again.
>Child of God by Cormac McCarthy
I've wanted to read Blood Meridian but didn't got into it too well so I thought this short book might help me to get into McCarthy. Waste of time it was. It's a bit like August Underground but for 1970 sensibilities. Would have been better off if I just forced myself through Blood Meridian

Biggest Surprise
>The Haar by David Sodergren
I expected "The Thing" in Scotland but what I got was the sheer Terror of being old. I liked it so much that I bought the "The Navajo Nightmare" right after which I also enjoed but it made me respect the Author a whole lot less.
>Less Than Zero by Bret Easton Ellis
I had this book lying around for over 10 years now, the first time I read it I stopped somewhere in the middle before it gets "dark" and thought it was a book about teenagers for teenagers. So imagine my shock when I actually finished it this time. For reasons I don't understand the "snuff movie" and the "bathroom" scene actually had an emotional impact on me. I don't know why this book hit me that hard but I will read more of Ellis work in 2024.

post your lists too.
