I have found I fall asleep much better when I am listening to something. I have also found audiobook recordings very wildly in quality, and a very poor recording or reader can ruin a book.

Do you guys have any recommendations for books to listen to, particularly science fiction?

The individualism of liberal capitalism, is in fact what causes the problems marxists like to view as a result of an authoritative explotive culture industry. Obviously it has a common culture, hirearchy and elites that inform it, but a society without that cannot exist, the problem is, it has delved to far into individualism, exploting the most primeval of mans urges, resulting in a decadent culture consumed by animalistic hedonism. People (contray to the marxist view of man as inherently noble) are naturally lazy and indulgent and when given the opportunity of individualisn take this route, this is what happens when you allow individualism, it destroys high culture. It is only when people maintain common morality, values, goals, aesthetics, narratives, beliefs etc that one can maintain high culture. When these are abandoned for the "individual" he loses what is noble of him and becomes an animal, he falls to his own weaknesses without the support of his culture and community. There are of course exceptions to this, but even these exceptions are effected by their environment, no man is an island.

We can see, even to the limited degrees individualism can exist, its gaping problems. Not including the marxist utopian ideal where people have no limits on self indulgence. This also leads to another problem with marxism which we can see reoccurring with the new left, that people must be taught how to express themselves individually. That certain ways of expression are incorrect still corrupted by "the system" which obviously backfires into the complete opposite of individual expression and results in enforcing "individual" expression which is laughable as a concept, only proving that individualism is impossible and if possible unwanted
