Ratchet this all the way down -- haute boug reflexively putting little jimmy and little jane in piano lessons, aspirational lumpen obsessively fetishizing law and medicine (and acting as if it has the same class cachet from when university matriculation was still highly regulated and required things like more than a passing knowledge of Greek and Latin)
