You're comparing apples and oranges. As good as the writing in a movie may be, it will never be "literature", and the same goes for games: they're fundamentally different things.

Games can afford to be text-only, which puts them closer to a book than a movie can. But even then, a text adventure where you have to manually issue commands to move, inspect rooms/objects and solve puzzles would have too much of a "gameplay loop", rather than a "narrative flow". It's two completely different modes of engaging your audience.

If you want to stay closer to traditional literature, you'd have to have a strongly linear progression with little branching, so that you can take your players through your set-pieces in the exact other you want, and storytelling takes precedence over gameplay. In other words, a glorified choose-your-own-adventure kind of game, like Telltale Games' titles.
