The artist isn’t overly concerned with that sort of thing.
They want some readers, sure. But that shouldn’t crumple your desire to write the thing. You need enough confidence to know someone will want to read it.
Think of Henry Darger. Extremely idiosyncratic and secretive. Did he think no one would read it? He would have burned it if he were ashamed of it that much
