There's a hadith where Muhammed is actually asked about this and he gave a different response. He said that it was common for people to take the names of people from the past. If Muhammed and his companions interpreted it that way then I don't see why we should try and use linguistics to get around it.

I have a copy but I left it back in my dorm room back in college because I didn't think I'd need it but I realised that there was a very good book mentioned in the bibliography and footnote that I want to read but I haven't got access to the book. If someone does have this book could you perhaps send me a pic or link to the bibliography of the first chapter or a place where I can access it?

Not even asking for the whole book thanks in advance.
