This has been my experience too. Until I was a child i have not read any fantasy I really enjoyed like i enjoy other /lit/.

Do you know of any Fantasy that explores Anti-Civilization themes like Erikson touches on with Karsa in Malazan and hopefully will explore more in the new books?

>“In my village no one is a stranger - and this is what civilization has turned it's back on. One day, Munug, I will make a world of villages, adn the age of cities will be over. And slavery will be dead, and there shall be no chains - tell your god. Tonight, I am his knight.' - Karsa Orlong.”

Hi /lit/. What is your view of the Malazan: Book Of The Fallen and why is it the best fantasy ever-written?

Can anyone recommend me any other good fantasy that throws metanaratives to the side, has a grounding in irl anthropology and contains broad and variied themes?
