I think there is an element to that, yes, because it came from Jews. I mean come on, the people known all through history as being compulsive liars. But I also think as the yugas progressed the religions got dumber and dumber/dumbed down because the people got dumber and dumber and unable to understand the higher gnosis of the mysteries. It became easier to tell them to listen and believe or you go to hell etc.
