avoid being abstract.

avoid being cliche

Use concrete images to describe emotions and moods.

Use figurative language and sound.

Dont be direct, the old addege "show dont tell".

Avoid romanticism and sentimentality

Take advantage of the six senses, touch, taste, smell, sound, sight, and motion.

The natural object is always the adequate symbol

Avoid commentary

let the image do the talking

The poem is concrete, the message is abstract
