50 shades is to libertinism what true detective is to pessimism

Dear /lit/,

Sade is the truest. Seriously. He's an amoralist materalist perfectly adapted to modern science without a shred of cognitive dissonance. Nietzsche and Stirner were late to the party. The Marquis solved it all.

Why aren't you a Sadean libertine?

Are you clueless? It's okay, II'd gladly recommend you some works.

Why aren't you a libertine?

Donatien Alphonse François "Fuck him!" de Sade. In him enlightenment thinking finds its ultimate culmination.

I don't get it /lit/, sexually I'm pretty vanilla, but the Misfortunes of Virtue seriously aroused me. Anyone else get a whyboner from Sade?

An argument could be made that Sade's Juliette is the ultimate novel of novels that destroyed literature forever

Or maybe it's just that I can't read any other books now after reading it.

Nothing can compare to the soul-rattling slow crescendo of evil and madness that is Juliette

'sup /lit/ches,

I was wondering if any of you fine gentlemen know any fiction authors or perhaps philosophers that tread in the footsteps of the Marquis de Sade.

Especially modern Sadean fiction would be greatly appreciated.

Shakespeare. I'd let him write sequels to all his shit and then hopefully I'll make a lot of money because its quality is so awesome.

But people probably wouldn't care and say it doesn't even approach the quality of Shakespeare's own work, because my name is not Shakespeare.

Other then that, I would let Nietzsche write his Transvaluation of all Values or bring the Marquis de Sade back, let him explore our modern Europe for sometime and let him write what he writes best, but in a modern context. If he doesn't kill himself watching internet porn or in our glorious red light districts, that is.

Hello,

This is going to be a thread about Marquis de Sade. Just write whatever you think about his writings. I'm very interested in different, intelligent interpretations used in various ways. Was he a sharp writer or was he simply an infantile, one-dimensional materialist?
