There are professors of fucking anthropology dedicating their doctoral degrees to researching memetics.... tenured doctoral analysts learning how memes and virality work instead of, say, the impact of Murica's censorship of sexuality but not violence, ISIS's destruction of historic artifacts, or the potential of BRINKC fucking up global media's western focus in the next 50 years.

A good deal of western pop music since this place became a "big thing" has been influenced in some way by this site.

Perhaps Wikipedia, for ease-of-access to a wide range of knowledge, or facebook, for connecting billions of people and facilitating the uptick in both social media and openly sharing content. Wordpress, maybe. YouTube. Google. PirateBay. All of them have their own specialty, just as this hellhole has virality and /mostly/ freedom of speech.
