How many words do you write a day, /lit/?

I've been thinking about distraction a lot lately. How do you identify distracted versus focused?

When I'm writing, am I focused or distracted? Don't the two words have the same meaning, ultimately, and are only different relative to the "object" of focus (e.g. i can be distracted from my writing but focused on 4chan)? In other words, you can be both distract and focused at the same time.

But this isn't true of other adjectives like hard and soft. Those words are also opposite but contain "ends" in themselves. In other words, it's inconceivable that with different subject matter you could describe someone as being simultaneously hard and soft.

What is the significance of this difference? Is there a word for these types of adjectives?
