Shit's fun. You can almost see my train of thought derail and get off topic.

For a few months now I've had this idea brewing in my brain about writing a musical.
The problem is, I can't even think of a theme or idea for it. I have absolutely nothing. I think part of the problem is that I don't want to commit to something that turns out to be a shitty idea.
What do you do when you have writers block like this?

>approaching 500 books, definitely more than 350

I almost always keep books I have read and have been reading and thus collecting for a while.

Daily reminder that DFW dragged his sister in dog shit when he was 14.

It's not the words, but whole sentences that look obscure to me. I have in my hands a copy of Macbeth, and here's an excerpt:

A good and virtuous nature may recoil
In an imperial charge. But I shall crave your pardon;
That which you are, my thoughts cannot transpose:
Angels are bright still, though the brightest fell:
Though all things foul would wear the brows of grace
Yet grace must still look so.

I understand every word but I have no idea what I just read.

Okay, maybe Plato. But Aristotle is a no no.

What are /lit/'s thoughts on Comparative Lit? I have a few books on the subject in the mail, and I want to be as cynical as possible before I read them.
