When the author is haphazardly throwing geographical locations at me a map sure comes handy. Doesn't need to be anything fancy, just a general outlining. Apart from that, I'm indifferent, but at the same time, I do like scrutinising maps for the sake of it.

I'm reading half a dozen books but I plan to read Sabriel soon after seeing people talking about it here. Seems like a pretty fun read.
