The French are a strange animal. First of all, they have to be reminded that the world exists and that their country is actually placed on the surface of it. The French always seem to forget this rather important fact, probably because then they would have too much space around them and wouldn't feel so small anymore.
Also, the French seem to always be in a state of collective delusion. They have this belief that they are something special and that others envy them for it. This is probably because they are so small themselves, and feel even smaller when standing on their giant piece of land.
Then, there are the French people themselves. The French are a very strange bunch. First off, they have no sense of reality.
To put it in simple terms, the French are all delusional. I've seen them walking down the streets of Paris, looking around at their city and talking about how great this is because they're so different from everyone else.
This is a bit of an exaggeration, but it's not that far off the mark. The French are delusional, and this delusion makes them think they're great.
The French also believe that they are very important. This is because the whole country revolves around them. What other people think of them and whether or not they like it, doesn't matter as long as the French like themselves.
