Taken from the comments section:

"I know it sounds pretentious as fuck but I think you're meant to say Albert Camus like all French because he's from Belgium or something. Like you know, if someone from France said an English person's name, they'd say like the English do."

No one hates themselves. Even suicide arises out of self-love.

Why is his adaptation of The Possessed so terrible? The original is one of my favorite books and Camus is a very talented playwright.

>Can/should books be adapted into theater plays?

When dealing with a well-known intellectual with an expansive body of work, is it ideal to read their essays and then their fiction, or their fiction before their essays?

I guess to phrase that differently, should I read a work of more explicit conclusion before I read the literature to try and determine the authors vision or position, or should I experience the literature with a blank slate before reading explicit views?

Finished reading The Stranger a while back, and got this idea that I need to share.
While in prison, Meursault, talking to the chaplain get's to the realization that, if he would get to live his life again, he would't mind so much thing, mind them even less. And in the end he makes this realization about his mom, about how she's not to feel sorry upon.
My idea here is that Camus is giving Meursault another chance in the life of each reader. So when he's thinking about living all that again, is kind of saying that to the reader.
What do you think, lit? Any more interpretation? I think this may be a good time for a general discussion on the book as well.

Did Camus really say “There are causes worth dying for, but none worth killing for"? I see it attributed to him but I never with a source.

It's going to be an autobiographical novel, and i'm sure critics will be praising it as my masterpiece for years to come.
I'll tell you more about it in a bit though, I need to go on a drive.
