So Schopenhauer is basically a misguided vedantist, right? He intuitively got the right idea about existence, but in his isolation, he remained stuck in a dualist approach to nondualism and because of this contrast, which causes him suffering, slanders Brahman/the Will as malevolent.

That's why he misinterprets asceticism as a negation of the will rather than a complete association with it. This one flaw, this emotional animosity towards existence itself, lead his philosophy to be one of perpetual disharmony and suffering rather than one of harmony and joy.
