Apparently this guy is having major spine issues and he can't even write and book 2 was so long it got split up into 2 and 3 instead. Hope he gets better because this was a really solid book. Waiting for 5 years sucks

Not sure I even understand what you're asking but this is pretty solid coming of age material. The MCs friend-who-is-a-girl gets nabbed by slavers and stuff happens and training montage and etc. Book 2 isn't out though so I have no idea if the MC "wins" like you want

Top tier coming of age fantasy right here. And I know my YA/coming of age fantasy because it's literally all I read. Excellent character progression and growth that spans the whole book rather than a few chapters. Great supporting characters and really well written. Would recommend
