I wouldn't say I really hate it or anything but I'd say its status as a 4edgy16me 'classic' of modern literature is a testament to how fucking awful the Beat Generation was. Its reliance on shock value is about makes it about as enjoyable as a two-hour-long porno. It's a novelty for about 15 minutes and then you just turn it off.
