This is just a mix of sillyness and rehashed historical tropes, and when Herbert ran out of the latter (amerilard eduaction strikes again) he wrote nothing but nonsense and incest fanfics.

yep same. I'm almost done with God Emperor now and I'm seeing Bakker used quite a bit of Dune in his books. and that's not a bad thing. how is Heretics and Chapterhouse by the way because I really really enjoy God Emperor, it's easily my favorite of the series so far.

god I can't wait for it. I am 3/4's through Children of Dune and it's such a slog. I'm pretty certain I'm going to stop after God Emperor and then just read the wiki articles on the last two Frank books. The urge to pick up and read another book in my backlog is incredibly strong, but I'm holding out
