i miss my childhood.. things weren't so complicated between boys and girls.
it was like girls started being scared of me, and huddled together. sometimes they'd ask me what my favorite color was, then run off whispering and giggling.
it was like i needed to impress them so they wouldn't alienate me so, but never the other way around.
then came adolescence.
by this time i had resigned to a lifestyle that didn't include interaction with girls, and in some ways consequently other guys.
after all, if you weren't talking about hot girls, what kind of guy are you? shy boys aren't boys.
perhaps you might've been better off born a girl. who knows.
perhaps you're just a neutral kind of person.
most likely you were just slow.
but someone comes along, a rather boyish girl, neutral, more sensitive than the others - kind.
it's a happy friendship. one you so long needed, despite rejecting the world in turn of them rejecting you.
and in a moment you take it in to appreciate her, and you see her laughing, and no surprises the lonely kid has gone puppy eyed.
by the end of this mess, he'd learn to never put all the eggs in one basket.
to avoid investing more emotions than he can afford to invest in a contract that was never signed by the opposite party, then get mad at them when things don't go as ...wished.
just tired. burned out from trying. hoping. remembering all the shameless and childish things it all brought out in you.
