I'm just going to say what everyone who has seen this thread --but not posted-- is thinking:

You people have no taste.

Been reading a lot of Hemingway lately, and there's two things that make him my favorite author: iceberg theory, and his talent at making great male protaganists.

Any other authors, who genuinely accomplish this as well? (No dickriders, I don't wanna read any 'For who the bell rings for'"

That feel when you know you'll never write novels in 1920's Paris.

I've only read the first book in the series. When I finished it I was left wondering what all the fuss was about. It's good, not great. I guess when there are so many shit-tier books the decent ones get promoted to godlike status.

What is a word that means, simultaneously, both death and the past (past as in history, things that cannot be changed, things that have been lost and are gone)?

Doesn't have to be an English word, but I am really curious if there is one.

I want to get into Hemingway's work because people keep telling me how amazing of an author he is, where is a good place to start?
