she was just mad dey took her dirty money that she *deserved* for being a born into a high station and being an epic unique *individual* above the commoners, and she turned this into her entire personality which is blazingly obvious if you read pic related but nobody does. idk why, it's her best work, written before she went truly insane.

Why are her earlier, actually soulful novels disregarded in favor of her autistic ideological screeds she later wrote while abusing benzedrine?

The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged are later books she wrote while deep in the thrall of drug addiction and have massive, boring, insane rants fueled by decades of bennies. For the /soul/ful version of Rand, read her first book she wrote when she was 30, We The Living. It is about the absolute suffering of 1920s Russia combined with a sociopathic protagonist she wishes she was in her wildest wet dreams, as a semi-autobiographical novel. The prose is tolerable in this one too even if constant grandiose metaphors about square jaws are already there.

I actually feel bad for Ayn Rand about a third into this, if half the shit in this absolute /suffercore/ story is true then it's no wonder she turned out to be a screeching old dingbat. I probably wouldn't fare any better. It' also way more entertaining then I thought it would be, it's her first novel and seems like she got worse over time.
