I don't know what /litpat/ is but I'll go there as soon as you go back to /b/, faggot.

I want to start reading a series of unfortunate events but don't know whether I need to read the first 3 books. I heard the film covers the first 3 books but how can the books be stretched out that much? Or are there events that are missing from the film?

I actually got the entire series up to book 12, read them too
Then suddenly, out of nowhere, i just realized how dumb it was.
each book barely evolved on the mystery at all, the events made no sense, and not in the funny way, but in the dopey way
There was pretty much nothing to them at all, just different settings for the same crap over and over again

I'm currently reading Book 4, as a sort of reminiscence, I don't remember Violet being this cute.

My favorite. I wonder how they hold up now. I know there was a Pynchon reference in one of the books.

Anybody know of any good children's books? Novels, not 20 page books about a cat in a sombrero. By good i mean good enough to be read by a mature adult and not be trash, such as harry potter (an example of trash).
