why do so many people come to /lit/ asking about this book?

It's a substandard fantasy novel that apes off of Rowling and other more original authors staring Patrick Rothfuss' self-insert dungeons and dragons character. Reading dragonlance would be a better use of your time, and that's coming from someone who hated 90% of dragonlance.
