Dude what the fuck, i'm halfway through Madame Bovary and am up to the exact same part. It's fucking excellent. What the fuck are you even reading?

Legit story spoiler:
Dat scene where Rodolphe is telling her how much she loves her whilst the agriculture speech is going on and Emma thinks she sees Leon in the carriage

The fuck man, it's good. I think you need to put it aside and come back to it again later.

8 years! On /lit/ since '07 and have to say, it hasn't gotten nearly as bad as some of the other boards.

Fairly new to /lit/, so what are your personal favorites and how did you stumble upon it?
/lit/ seems to be made up of college kids, so I'm expecting a lot of stuff I have never heard of before.

My list (still in highschool, be gentle with the lynching):

The Red Tent by Anita Diamant - recomended by teacher.
The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy - thrift store.
City of Saints and Madmen: The Book Of Ambergris by Jeff VanderMeer - swamp meet
Christ the Lord by Anne Rice - thrift store

Do me a favor? Take a look at my wishlist. I added a bunch from a /lit/ recommended reading list and some others. There are a lot of books that I haven't read that I need too.

So please take a look, and let me know what you think I'm missing.

I've realized today that, if you love or even like or were evenly mildly entertained by a book that you should not say so on /lit/. Why? Because someone else will come along and call it a piece of shit work by a hack which will just piss you off. Why do you do it /lit/? Why you guys got to be so douchey?
