I've been reading Moby Dick off and on since the summer of 2018. I'm still only about 2/3 of the way through. I gotta know: does anyone else think the whole thing is the 19th century equivalent of a shitpost/copypasta? The kicker fore me was when Ishmael didn't just tell a story he heard from his shipmate, who heard it from a worker on another ship the Pequod met, but instead framed the chapter as the story of him telling the story to his rich friends in Argentina.
