Did Robert E. Howard invent the concept of absolutely rad shit?

His stories contained the following:
>Huge dude with a big sword
>Giant monsters
>Scantily clad chicks with huge tits
>High adventure sword and sorcery
>Heavy metal aesthetic long before it was a thing
>Aliens every now and then

Incredible prose.
Incredibly based on the race/gender question.
Actually fun to read.
You can't find a better writer.

My father told me of a book by Howard he read, a story of The Vikings and Christian monks coming into contact and it sounded rather intriguing but I cannot find it anywhere.
From what he told me, in the story, a group of Vikings encounters and captures a few Christian monks/missionaries. At first they mock them for their apparent weakness and unwillingness to fight but over the course of the narrative the monks earn their respect by showing nearly inhuman perseverance and fidelity in face of adversity they all encounter on their adventures while the physical prowess of the Vikings ends up being proven insufficient.
Perhaps my dad misremembered and it was by another author? Does anybody know what this book might be?

Over 400 stories by the time he was 30. Imagine how much we could have gotten if he'd lived to be 70?

Nobody who came after Tolkien was good because they were either imitating him or seething so hard their works were (attempted) refutations of Tolkien which meant he was still their biggest influence anyway. The only good non-Tolkien fantasy is from the authors who weren't influenced by him at all, i.e those who wrote their stories before him.

He’s better than Tolkien and Lewis and I’m tired of pretending he’s not just to please the limey fucks and their delusions. God Bless America.

I think it's funny how he once criticized Robert E Howard for pissing out mediocre stories for money when that's pretty much all King himself has done in the past decade or so. And the difference is that Howard was a poor, rural Texan writing for a pulp magazine during the Great Depression while King is one of the most wealthiest and well-known authors in America

I'm reading his works in chronological order (Robert E. Howard's Weird Works) and almost every story has black african natives being btfo by werewolves and white colonizers. People shit on Lovecraft for being racist, while Howard got away with literary calling Picts non-white. The prose is great though.

Is there any writer who writes action better than Robert E. Howard?

For me, Howard is the man to beat. All his stories have really well-written, well-constructed action scenes that are very easy to visualize and follow. Nobody else manages to do it better, at least of the writers I've encountered so far.
