This book was nothing but a middle ages version of Ready Player One. A extremely simplistic narrative that served as nothing but an excuse to trot out a myriad of pop culture references. Endless cameo appearances of characters and things used to pad out a childlike story, a nursery rhyme, so that the drooling idiots can point and say "I GET THAT".

If you sent Ready Player One into the future it would likely be treated with reverence similar to The Divine Comedy, as many of the incredibly timely references would be lost on people, and they would scramble to understand them as they their were meaningful esoteric secrets.

i bought a copy of this fr less than a dollar today but now seeing it's written in 1320 i'm worried it's outdated. does anyone know if this is useful information or will it just cloud my thoughts with out dated ideas?
