The rants about Y2K being a self-fulfilling prophecy or kind of cargo-culture theory-fiction arriving from the future, and about how an AI interacting with criminally insane people could go rogue, and of course, that we are at war with a monomaniacal totalizing Atlantis, are all pretty neat to read during the ongoing pandemic/election, since these crises are rich with 'predictive' data and numerology, of priests creating the future through mediation inciting us to behave as if x or y were true. The people who complain about postmodernism or fake news or libtards or fascism don't really understand the consequences of the managed chaos they are reacting to.

Zizek has some similar stuff. "First as Tragedy then as Farce" is pretty good, if you can handle some communist arguments. All the rest of Fisher's essays and other books are really good too.
