So I've been reading a collection of stories from Raymond Carver and I've gotten to the short story The Father and for the life of me I can't understand it. It might me just tired but it seems there is something big I'm missing about the father.

If you guys don't know the story it's about a page and a half so it's not a long read.

Collected works of Raymond Carver are really all I've been reading lately.
Damned school and Valkyria Chronicles series having my attention.

I'd be very surprised if you guys read this.
