Are there any philosophers that support primitivism? I know it's a common theme in art and literature, but I'm wondering if there are any actual philosophy written on the idea that man was better before civilization and should return to a similar state, sort of taking the idea of the noble savage seriously. Maybe Thoreau or Edward Abbey, or Camatte?

And if it does exist, is it actually worth reading aside from Ted?
