People often say how the far right (and to a lesser extent the far left) gets Nietzsche wrong, but what are some ways in which the more moderate contemporary philosophers and academics get Nietzsche wrong, either out of their own biases or because some parts of Nietzsche have to be dismissed for being too controversial?

Has any post-Nietzsche philosopher truly impacted how you see the world or live your life?

>Blessedness to write on the will of millenia as on bronze - harder than bronze, nobler than bronze. Only the noblest is altogether hard.

Well, /lit/? Are you hard?

Where do I start with him?

I do not understand the appeal of reading actual philosophical works, as opposed to just reading summations of the ideas on say Wikipedia or some other encyclopedic resource. When you read a summation I feel like you are actually getting a clearer understanding of what the philosopher was trying to express. When I read actual philosopher works like from Nietzsche or the Greeks I feel as if I am reading lots of lines of prose that are taking a long time to communicate an idea that could be summed up much quicker.

Am I just a pleb? Does anyone else prefer just reading encyclopedic essays on philosophical ideas as opposed to the actual writings of philosophers?

I've been trying to get into Nietzsche without falling into the obvious traps. Even though he tends to contradict himself (sometimes intentionally), there are still times that i read something by him that seems to contradict everything he said before, and i really feel like i just don't 'get' him. Now i realize that this often happens with Nietzsche, and even nietzsche scholars get accused of completely misunderstanding him, but still.

So are there any good secondary sources to help with Nietzsche? I don't want to give up on Freddy.

Is Nietzsche an important thinker, or is he too dangerous to be read? Is he still relevant today?

I want to get into Nietzsche, but I hear many people get him wrong and i don't want to be a loser like those people. What books should i start with, and what other authors should i read before starting with N?

It seems like no one really understand Nietzsche, both online and among actual philosophers. Whenever someone reads Nietzsche, there's always someone around to say "you got Nietzsche completely wrong".

Is it even possible to understand Nietzsche?

Who were the mysterious French philosophers he mentioned in BGE?

Does meaning have any inherence or does meaning only exist because we've determined it as such. And if the latter, then what's the point of it all? What's the point of waking up, working, falling in/out of love, the pain, the joy, the striving to continue on? Why place so much value on life and guilt others to continue living or having a drive if there is no meaning in existence?
