That isn't a straw man. I pointed out a premise that was wrong. Do you understand how fallacies work? I didn't say "your entire argument is wrong because of x", I just said x was wrong. We are on a fast pace anonymous chinese image board so it is easy to miss the subtle things.

They had an answer, right or wrong. Hell it wasn't even an answer, it was a universal declaration.

Well I'm not saying otherwise, I don't know who is, but you should also be wary that your good intentions are not leading to further equality.

I respect Chekhov for the his craft but what he decided to write about and what he decided to say about is just lame. Something being mundane doesn't mean being undramatic. There was only one short story of his that I really enjoyed and I believe it was only because it reminded me of A Perfect Day for BananaFish since the main character shoots himself in the end.

I don't know about Borges. Like I said, I'd rather stay with works originally written in English. After reading and disliking Proust and also Dazai, I get the feeling that there is something very important being missed in translation.
