I don’t visit this board, is this a meme book

What's your favourite book you read in 2021? Not necessarily the best, just your favourite. This is mine. It was a lot of fun and at times genuinely terrifying. I liked the word art and hidden puzzles. It got a little tedious at times (Nth review of The Navidson Record from X perspective with Y footnotes) but was ultimately worth slogging through these parts.

examples of books that require a high (130+) IQ to understand in a non-trivial way?

I mean, any dummy can read word by word and understand basic plot points but it takes a brain capable to advanced abstraction to understand the "point"

Hyperion and Infinite Jest come to mind (not just because they're really long)

This book is a fucking scam. I can not believe this guy went to a publisher told them "I'm going to write text in diagonal when the protagonist is sliding down" and the publisher didn't tell him "no that's retarded, are you 15?".
I want someone to make a version of this without all the Truant whining, the pseud literary analysis that's just about a creepy house with an interdimensional maze.

My favourite modern authors are Conrad, Joyce, Pynchon and McCarthy. I quite like Borges, but in the small doses he so wisely prescribed.

God damnit, this book is one big gimmick. No substance, completely impenetrable, nonsense. Why the fuck is this book so revered? I genuinely don't understand how this creepy pasta tier novel got published. On top of that, there are entire pages that are blank except

This is one of the harder books ive read recently. I never really read for any purpose other than entertainment and if i couldn't grasp what the book was telling me i wouldn't read it.

If anyone has any recommendations for getting good at reading stuff like the greek poems or books meant for the big brained people i would really appreciate them.

This is the worst, most pretentious, Reddit-tier thing I have ever read. No joke the most embarrassing attempt at literature that has ever been given wide praise.

Why is this so beloved?

I love novels, but I feel as if the novel needs to evolve as a medium if it wants to survive. And not E-Book garbage.
