i need to help teenagers understand that starting a piece of writing at the end, or through revealing the lesson that will eventually be learned, can be great.

example: "i'm dying in a desert far from home. you just can't trust cab drivers like you used to."

"grandmas are always right, no matter how crazy or demented their advice may seem. this is how i learned blah blah blah blah..."

BUT WHAT DO YOU CALL IT
they need a catchy, one or two word label for this type of introduction. "flashback" will only serve to confuse them.

Can I get a recommendation for a book(s) that explains concepts in physics from Newton up to Quantum mechanics. I am willing to buy a text book.

After careful scrutiny, I have determined this to be the most pretentious board on 4chan.

A NASA team researching wormholes (or some similar sciencey gobbleygook) opens a portal to Hell. Fortunately, Hell is mostly empty desert and the few life forms aren't especially threatening, so humanity begins colonization efforts to take advantage of Hell's natural resources. The main character is former evangelical christian who is hired to explore Hell and he begins to suspect there are monsters and powerful demons out in the wastes.

The tone is mixture of colonization novel satire (y'know, Avatar, Red Mars, that kind of shit) and Lovecraftian horror.

Okie dokey /lit/ so i remember in high school we read this poem from way back yonder days. the poem creeped me the fuck out. Genuinely. I don't remember the name or the author but the imagery was something like a bunch of kids playing and some half man half goat was leering at them with smiling. Anyone got any idea what this is?
