>order the stranger a week ago
>pirate the ebook yesterday
>read ~20 pages and enjoy it
>it comes today
>try to find where I left off only to discover it's a different, poorly written version

Would someone explain this?

/mu/ fag here. What are some books that had popular songs written about them? Like I know Bohemian Rhapsody is supposedly based on pic related. More such literature/music overlaps?

Enjoyed reading The Stranger. Are any of Albert Camus' books this engaging? What are your recommendations similar to this book? Preferably I'm inclined to its writing style, not so much of its content.

Being indifferent in this day and age will end up sending you to the outskirts of the community. You would think that if a man is indifferent he would have the capability of great knowledge on any subject for he has no prejudices and has no side to take. An indifferent man is cold, calculated, and loyal for they know that a real friend would accept him as he is.

I would say I'm an indifferent man but as of last night I am questioning myself if being indifferent will ever do anything positive for me or will it lead me to social ruin.

Last night my two roommates brought over a couple of girls and a older guy that was dating one of the girls. We began to drink heavily but there was an air of slight uncomfortableness directed at me. then one of them popped the question "Why are you so quiet?" at these words my mind began to race even asking myself the same question and came to the conclusion that there was really nothing to say and that's what i told them. They were clearly taken aback. My friends tried to reassure the new comers that i was indeed a friend and not an enemy by repeating to the trio "He's cool. He's cool."

So basically this book is trying to tell me

Life is absurd, and you could die at any time.

Accept that it doesn't matter when/how/if you die, instead just live life

This is the best philosophy ever

Looking for some good, short-ish philosophical fiction.

Pic related.

Just finished it.
It's definitely a good read and I'm still kind of going over some parts in my head. I might go back and read the last 20 or so pages again, but overall a solid quick read.

What did you get out of it, /lit/?
