Heyy, this is very nice advice, I would agree completely on all the aspects you've mentioned (tho Dazai for me is a must, simply for how he showed the modern novel can be deeply personal and yet universally engaging). Which makes me wonder, why do you consider their short lenght an underwhelming factor? I think it compliments very well not only the plot they usually tackle, but the themes and the ambiance they set, I cannot imagine a longer "Snow Country" or "Kokoro" for instance

What are the best books about NEETs? Kokoro is pretty dope. too bad sensei had the guilty conscious of his friend though, otherwise he would have been living the dream
