Is this from Garouden?

Is there any /lit/ that evokes the aesthetic of noir movies -- especially the melancholy, the chiaroscuro lighting, the smoke and rain, the hopelessness -- if it's even possible? I'm afraid it's an aesthetic that's too abstract and visual to express in the written word.
Maybe crime pulps? Though I think they lack the "classiness"/aesthetic refinement of noir movies.
I've read that noir cinema was inspired by German Expressionism, if you have any entry-level suggestions for that movement that I'd love to hear them.
