>unmatched material conditions
>doesn't matter because you're lonely and afraid
I believe our ancient forebearers warned us about the vapidity that is the life of absolute material indulgence. We can draw numerous parallels between the prototypical NEET and the story of King Midas. Yes I have unlimited access to all art, music, entertainment, and literature. I can eat almost anything I want at any time. I have a warm place to live, complete with plumbing and electricity. I can drink beer whenever I want, smoke weed whenever I want, stimulate my monkey brain with hardcore pornography whenever I want. I can even get pussy (with some added effort) almost free of charge. I simply need to press a few buttons on my bingbong phone machine and arrange to meet with a horny 19 year old girl incredibly easily. My ancestors would be green with envy if they could see the kind of conditions I (and billions of others) are able to live under. All this said, many are still unhappy. Why? Because they have nobody to share this with. They have no friends, no romantic connections, no deep-set family or community ties. We are atomized. This is the experience of millions of young men like me. I would prefer to live in 18th century material conditions if it meant I could have a reasonably stable family, social, and work life. Instead I sit alone in my mansion of gold.
