What is your opinion on 100 Years of Solitude? Is it worth actually paying attention in class?

So what I've taken out of the ending:

>Macondo is a microcosm for the world
>Time is a flat circle and we repeat history without learning from the past despite being so engrossed in it we practically live in it
>The Buendias would never be able to escape the solitude of Macondo / break the cycle because they were stuck in that flat circle and their history was written from the start (hence naming the last child Aureliano instead of Rodrigo and having him fulfill the prophecy of a pig's tail)
>Truth is written off as fantastical whereas falsehoods are written down as truth; the character named after GGM is one of the only ones who escapes and knows the truth of the banana company massacre, mirroring GGM writing the book itself and presenting us with a different, magical view of Latin America

What is your interpretation? I'm too much of a brainlet to digest all the themes and symbolism and incest and shit.
