Hey /lit/.

Just started pic related. I'm excited to dive in, but does anyone have any tips on how exactly this should be read? I mean, will I have to take notes on the characters and specific little things (as many people do with Pynchon) or anything like that? Thank you!

How was 2666 for you? What are your favorite books out of five?

I enjoyed 2666 story and the way the books are written. I didn't find any hidden center through my first reading lasting 9days, only the idea what figures are involved in the killings.
Favourite books were about Fate and Archimboldi, the fourth and longest book had too much victim descriptions for my taste.
Anyone figured out who was the penitent?

Spanish-speaking bros:

How hard is this to read in the original Spanish? I have about six years of experience with the language and have been trying to expand my vocabulary lately.

Do you think it'll be too tough for me? Should I read it in English first?

I've enjoyed this so far but since starting part 5 (Archimboldi) I've lost my enthusiasm.

I've skimmed a few pages, up to the part where he finishes reading Ansky's diary which is around page 750/880

Does it pick up? I just feel like reading a summary would be a safe option know that I know what he was like as a child and soldier. There's a lot of other things I'd like to read.

I'm looking for crime novels written preferably within the past 30 years that are about serial killers, elaborate crimes or labyrinthian investigations. I don't particularly care whose point of view they're from, about their length or whether they can be considered 'pulp' or 'high literature'. I'm open to all suggestions!

Pic realted.

Sup /lit/, I'm in the midst of reading this, in the fifth section/chapter/book and I adore it. Is there anything else like this? Is there anything else worth reading by Bolano? Has anyone else read it?

This and always this. The only reason this didn't gave Bolaño the nobel price is because he died.
