I think one has to just constantly remind oneself of our Lord's presence. Serve with the heart. Love G-d and try and make (H)im proud of (H)is creation. Use the faculties (H)e gave us, don't back down. Toil and wait patiently. Be humble and grateful. Give thanks for literally everything that goes into your body and the ease of the times we were born into. In short quantity is not our King. Not slide into letting it rule you. Remember who our Lord is and that (H)e loves us. One of my favourite prayers is: my Lord is sufficient for me, there is none worthy of worship but (H)e, i have placed my trust in (H)im, (H)e is ruler of all the cosmic throne. Or substitute in "You" if your speaking directly to the Lord. I adapted it from a hadith.

There was an anon on here a few weeks ago who posted something to the effect of: humans and animals are kind of like Manichean demons because organisms devour the energy (light) of other organisms just as demons devour the light of God.

I just wanted to thank that anon because that post me down a fascinating and fucked up rabbit hole. Thank you.
