This has no right to be on any recommendations chart and doesn't deserve any of the food ratings it got.
It's garbage that drags on way too long and vandalizes it's own characters at the end.
The first book I was so angry about I wrote 1 star reviews on every platform I could find.

Not a classic but ateast highly acclaimed with awards and such.
It also bugs me how this piece of shit is on so many /lit/ recommendation charts.
The story is a mess that drops it's main theme for a shitty monsterhunt after a few hundred pages, the characters are flat even after hearing their thoughts constantly.
And the worst of all, the books drags on forever.
Big waste of time and one of the first book in a long time I was angry with after finishing it.

Well I guess I'm officially a brainlet. I just finished Perdido Street Station and thought it was really underwhelming even though it gets recommended in ever other /lit/ chart.
The world-building and the setting where quite fascinating at first but the story really became a drag in the later half.
I skipped big parts because I just wanted to get on with the plot and not follow secondary characters with their uneventful tasks (Derkham and the waterbender laying cables was especially uninteresting).
Birdmans story was quite interesting and the snibets from his pov where good for breaking up the dragging story.
Also Isaac is a fucking cunt and Lin a retard.
